Kyaking the Tolafofo River

This Sabbath afternoon we were asked by Dr. Wresh and the Brechts to go Kayaking down the Telofofo river. We've been here 3 years and this was a first for us. Even though the ocean we very choppy we entered just up the river which was a little more calm. Wendy was planning on riding in Ed's Canoe until it capsized shortly after departure. She then spent the next few hours exploring the east side of the island while the rest of us paddled west. It was really quite beautiful and only would have been nicer if we had wildlife perched among the trees. In the end we had to be happy with a lone Carabao. Even though we had a great time and even got the "Old Chamorro Village" tour by Dr. Wresh...Thanks again for inviting us!! Enjoy.

Trip to the Phillipines

Greetings everyone. We were luck to take a few extra days vacation last week and head to the PI. Needless to say the traffic even at midnight was insane. After a 3-4 hour trip down to Anilao, Batangas we settled in at Eagle Point Resort. The people were great and so was the diving. As usual we got VERY lucky with the weather. A couple days before we arrived there were multiple Typhoons around PI and we even had some Blue Skies...Wow, God is good. Diving was amazing. Not tones of large things but the quantity of colorful reefs and fish was astounding. We came away with a few new nudibranchs and enjoyed the company of the Fly's. Now it's back to the grind at the Clinic. Enjoy the pictures.

Thanksgiving in Saipan

This last weekend we went to Saipan to visit the Pierson for Thanksgiving. We had a great time! We enjoyed dinner at the Maycock's which was wonderful. We also had a tasty $1.00 tacos down by the beach. You can also Matt and Beth Dodd who were visiting as well. He is the director of Joy 92 Christian Radio and was doing a little scouting to add a station in Saipan. On Sabbath we to church in Kagman which started from recent evangelistic meetings. In the afternoon we went down to Forbidden Island and enjoyed a little dip in the secret pool...that almost washed us out into the Pacific! Anyway, this weekend were going to P.I. to dive so maybe some nice new nudibranch pics will be posted next time. See you all later and enjoy the picture I pilfered from our friends!

Guam Sunset at the Chapel

Here is the Sheraton's new wedding chapel at sunset. Many Japanese Tourists like to come to Guam and get married. As a result many of the hotels have built these little chapels. Unfortunately they did away with the little hill where we used to watch the surfers and sunset. Even though, we still can enjoy if from the pool terrace.

Proof of Profession!!

I just wanted to share a couple cases that made me smile recently. Enough of these cases help outweigh the days of crying, gagging, complaining, whining, yada yada....patients. ;-)

This lady came in and wanted to close the spaces. Originally I had thought about Lab Veneers but I wasn't told she was scheduled. Thus I wasn't ready for temps, etc. When she came in I decided to freehand them directly chairside. I was quite happy how they turned out and so was the patient.

This guys needed a crown on one of his front two teeth. Can you tell which one? After recently meeting a new labtech I put his skills to the test. As you can see he has mastered the art of Decalcifications, Stained Craze lines, intrinsic stains and beauty. I was extremely impressed as was the patient!!

Country Club of the Pacific Golf Course

Today Eric, Woody and I went out for a few holes of Golf. It was a great day, ocean view and I even managed to make a few pars. Woody walked away with the only Birdie though. We really enjoyed the course and the wild boars made for a little extra golf cart chasing excitement!! Have a great weekend.

Gun Beach Night Dive

Happy Diving Everyone!!

A couple night ago the Fly's convinced us to head to Gun Beach for a night dive. We were hoping to catch a night where we could dive with only the moon. Unfortunately it came out a little late but the conditions were perfect. Almost no waves and great visibility. We didn't run into any Tiger Sharks, much to the girls chagrin, but we did see some new critter for Guam. When were were done God treated us to something special. With the moon behind us and a light tropic rain out on the ocean. We saw a rainbow! At Night! Way cool! I've never even heard of it, even though the physics makes sense. Anyway, here are few pics for those who are interested.

Busy Life

Greeting everyone. This last week has been a little crazy and busy. I'm now the President, Vice-president, Treasure & possibly secretary of the Guam Dental Society. So my time has been spent arranging speakers from off island, hotels, etc, etc. Work is also busy with crazy cases that had a small chance of success. Ha!! Anyway, we did get a chance to have diner with the Youngbergs at Top Of the Mar. They will be leaving next year and will be greatly missed. I've also been working on the bathroom which is slowly getting finished. Our last tile will arrive at the end of November. Hopefully it will be ready when our December guests arrive ;-) My mom also sent me a funny animation that reminded us of our cat. Enjoy!

Cambodia, Hong Kong & Macau

Hey Hey Hey, the traveling is almost over and we're almost ready to head home to Guam. Here is a quick photo summary of our trip to Cambodia, Hong Kong & Macau.

Cambodia: An amazing country for it's Ankor Ruins. We really enjoyed the various temples which must have been amazingin their day! The people were wonderful as well. The kids that harassed us to buy stuff were just too cute. We ended up buying many trinkets that we really didn't need, ha. It's really unfortunate how the Khmer Rouge put the country back so many years. That part of their history is a long sad story. Needless to say we really enjoyed Cambodia!!

Hong Kong & Macau

We arrived in Hong Kong to rainy weather but it cleared up very nicely the next day!! After visiting my parents old house, dental clinic & haunts, we enjoyed the view from the peak. Later that night we saw a great laser light display from Kowloon. The next day Shoshanna and I headed to Macau for a quick tour of old town and their casinos. Vegas still rules baby!! Well, enjoy the pics and we'll see or talk to you all soon.

Phuket Dive at Phi Phi

Greeting from Phi Phi Islands in Phuket. Today was a long day with wonderful weather. I'm pretty sure our boat was the slowest on the water, but good weather and fun diving made it worthwhile. Here is a little collage of some of the better pictures. Look closely at the anemone for a little friend watching you. Our time at the Marriot is almost up and we'll be heading to Cambodia to see Ankor Wat tomorrow. Hopefully the weather will let us post some fun pictures of the temples there soon. Take Care!!

Phuket

Sawadee,

Were now in Phuket for a week or so. Here are a couple pics from the Marriot but maybe I'll have some new nudibranchs for your tomorrow!!

The Four Seasons - Chiang Mai

The Fours Seasons....need I say more. My parents surprised us with one night before we left for Phuket and we were definately impressed! The ambiance, the endless pools overlooking rice paddies that are lit with torches at night was a memory we'll never forget. We even splurged on the spa treatment that was rated #1 in the world! Enjoy
